Project Partner

Un TECHO para mi Pais (A Roof for my Country), is a incredible Latin American based NGO, that helps thousands of families transition out of the cyclical poverty trap of slum life all across South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. TECHO has a proven and effective model for constructing a home and transitioning families out of slum life. The families have to pay 10% of the homes cost themselves and participate in the construction with volunteers. SHCAB volunteers will be the first Americans to engage the slum communities of Bueno Aires directly. We are very proud to participate in this cultural exchange. Healthy Homes is specifically partnering with TECHO’s Argentinian student office out of Buenos Aires. We are very excited that TECHO and SHCAB have been able to mesh their missions to create what should be a very unique and special program. SHCAB has been working directly with fellow college students in Buenos Aires to organize and implement this project together. On the ground, this project will bring American and Argentinian students together to build these homes and execute the project’s recreation programs.
