Partnership with IDEJEN
Through multiple interactions with the Prime Minister of Haiti, we were fortunate enough to connect with an organization known as IDEJEN, based out of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. IDEJEN partners are a joint collaboration with the government ministries as well as community-based organizations for the youth. This organization aims to promote the liveliness of uneducated Haitians, living in poor conditions, for a second shot at life to improve their social and economic skills. When we came into contact with the IDEJEN partners, in particular Mr. Isnel Pierreval, we connected instantly because our visions paralleled one another. Mr. Isnel Pierreval immediately told us he had the perfect location for our reality to come true. We have been connected with one of IDEJEN’s institutions in Mirebalais, which is a province about 60 kilometers north from the capital, Port-au-Prince. At this school, young Haitians take classes in oth the academic and vocational disciplines, in an effort to help them get the skills needed to have economic opportunity despite their circumstances and lack of adequate early education. The school also offers an array of arts and recreation programs to build community and develop their student’s character. They already have a team of young men under the age of 24 who need a place to play the sport they love.
